Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-10-29
These terms are the agreement between you and [OPERATOR NAME] ("we", "us") for using Street Scavenger (the "game"). By playing, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't play.
1. Who can play
You must be at least 13 years old to play. If you're under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
2. How the game works
Each round names a thing to find. You explore Google Street View, point the camera at one and submit. Our server fetches that exact view from Google and an AI judge decides whether the thing is clearly there. Faster finds score more points.
The judge is automated and can be wrong, slow or unavailable. Its decision is what counts for scoring. We may correct, hide or remove scores and results, for example after a fault or when they look automated or unfair.
3. Names, rooms and other players
- You need an account to play: sign in with Google or with a link we email you. Your account keeps your stats and your place on the leaderboard. You can delete your account at any time from the game's menu.
- Keep your Google account or email secure; you're responsible for what happens while you're signed in.
- Don't pick a name that's offensive, impersonates someone, or includes someone else's personal details. We may change or remove any name.
- Your display name and all-time stats are shown on the public all-time leaderboard.
- In a party room, the other players can see your name, your score, each view you submit and the judge's reason, and they can watch where you are while you play. The host starts the game and controls its settings.
- Anyone with a room's code or invite link can join it, so share them only with people you want to play with.
- You get a friend code. Anyone with it can send you a friend request, and you only become friends if you accept. Friends can see your name, stats, whether you're online and which room you're in, unless you turn on "Appear offline" in the Account tab.
- Likes are just for fun and never change scores.
4. Fair play
You agree not to:
- use bots, scripts or other automation to play, submit views or affect the leaderboard;
- get around cooldowns, submission limits, the free-game limit or other restrictions, for example by switching names, accounts, browsers or networks;
- try to make the judge accept a view that doesn't really show the thing;
- interfere with the game, overload it, probe it for vulnerabilities, or access parts of it you aren't meant to;
- copy, save, collect or redistribute Street View imagery or other map content from the game;
- use the game to break the law or to harass anyone.
We may limit, suspend or block anyone who breaks these rules.
5. Limits
Every submission costs us money with Google and our AI provider, so we limit how often you can submit, how many submissions are judged each day, how many free games you get (see section 7), and similar things. We may change these limits at any time. When a limit is reached, the game tells you when you can try again.
6. Google Maps and Street View
The game uses Google Maps and Street View. By using the game you also agree to be bound by the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service, and Google's use of your information is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
Map and Street View imagery belongs to Google and its contributors, not to us or to you. We don't control what the imagery shows. To report a problem with an image, use the "Report a problem" link in Street View.
7. Free games and GlobeHuntr Unlimited
- Free games. Without a subscription you get a set number of games in any rolling 7 days (the game shows how many, and when your next one frees up). A game counts when it starts, whether solo, in a party or with bots, and still counts if you leave partway. Free games are counted per account, per browser and per network, so signing in, switching names or clearing cookies doesn't give you more. We may change the number of free games at any time.
- GlobeHuntr Unlimited. Unlimited games for $5 (US dollars) a month. It covers your own games only: other players in your rooms still use their own free games.
- Billing. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. [Prices include / exclude applicable taxes.]
- Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically every month, at the then-current price, and you're charged at the start of each month until you cancel.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from the Account tab, which opens Stripe's billing page. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep unlimited games until the end of the month you've paid for.
- Refunds. We don't refund partial months, except where the law requires it.
- Deleting your account. Deleting your account cancels your subscription immediately, with no refund for the rest of that month.
- Right to withdraw (EU and UK). If you live in the EU or UK you can normally withdraw from a purchase within 14 days. By starting to use a paid feature straight away, you agree that it begins immediately and that you lose the right to withdraw once it has been fully provided, or you pay for what you used up to withdrawal.
- Price changes. We may change the price. We'll tell you at least [30] days before a new price applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first.
- If we stop a paid feature. If we discontinue GlobeHuntr Unlimited or the game during a month you've paid for, we'll refund the unused part of that month.
8. Changes and availability
The game depends on services we don't control, including Google Maps, Street View and AI providers. We may change, pause, limit or end any part of the game at any time, and we don't promise it will always be available or free of errors.
9. Stopping
You can stop playing at any time. To have your name and stats removed, see the Privacy Policy. We may stop providing the game to you if you break these terms.
10. Disclaimers and liability
The game is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties about it, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability to you for any claim about the game is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and [$20].
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived by contract.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE / COUNTRY], and disputes will be handled by the courts of [PLACE], except where consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live. Before starting a claim, please contact us so we can try to sort it out.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll tell you in the game before they apply. If you keep playing after a change, the new terms apply.
